Ogema
Ogema is a progressive rural community committed to building a sustainable future. Ogema was recognized as a model community by the provincial government’s task force, the Action Committee on the Rural Economy. 90 new jobs have been created within the region in the past three years. The towns vision is to attract additional business activity, to retain and expand services, and to enhance positive community involvement. Recent developments include the purchase of the railway track and grain elevator, an intensive livestock operation, a motel and a business capable of upgrading rail cars to current standards. These businesses have created spin-off service industries. The community is also actively involved in volunteerism.
